An Addiction Recovery Lunch-hour Speaker Meeting. A new guest speaker with at least 1 year sobriety from any addiction, and who is actively working in recovery, will speak for 25 minutes each week on a specific recovery topic. This will be followed by a moderated 25 minute Q & A session from the live audience. The live speaker meetings will be held on Zoom each Friday at 10:00 AM Pacific time. To attend the live recordings and have the opportunity of asking questions of the guest, please send an email to reco12pod@gmail.com and request to get on the invitation list. Dave H - The Gift of Being Single and Sober - Meeting 328
Dave H is our speaker today and his topic is The Gift of Being Single and Sober. Here is a little about Dave in his own words:
· Sobriety date in Sexaholics Anonymous: August 1, 1985
o I came into program in Rochester, NY, separated from my first wife
o I moved to Detroit, MI in 1986 and started the first Sexaholics Anonymous meetings there in 1987
o I divorced in 1987 and moved to Nashville in 1988 where I got my first and only sponsor in 1989, we have been together for over 35 years now
o I had my first date while sober in 1990 and married my second wife in 1996, 2 days after my 11th sobriety birthday
o We have been married for over 28 years and have two sons
o I have served the fellowship in multiple capacities including Central Office and Finance chair, member of the team that moved Central Office to Nashville, and chair of International and local conferences.
